What you need to know about eyelash extensions

The exciting way to a striking appearance is eyelash extension. Eyelash extensions give the appearance a dazzling sparkle, very rapidly change a woman’s appearance and turn ordinary into exciting. Most Hollywood stars having been wearing them for years to maintain a striking, natural appearance.

When done in a professional environment by a licensed cosmetologist, eyelash extensions are a safe way to enhance your eyes! As Bellezza's esthetician, I have been certified to do eyelash extensions since March 2007. I absolutely love the instant gratification of giving my clients beautiful lashes for their special events or just everyday looks.

I have been recently been receiving several appointments and phone calls from ladies who have gone elsewhere to receive "eyelash extensions" that have been done in other areas by nail technicians that need to be corrected. Please be aware that if the price seems to good to be true for a full set of lash extensions, then it probably is. I have seen FLARES AND ‘INDIVIDUAL’ LASHES applied as shortcuts. Flares, Clusters and ‘Individuals’ consist of attached groups of 3-8 blunt-end lashes, often with a knot at the end. These types of lash enhancements are designed to be applied to the skin using temporary lash adhesive for short term wearing. It has become known that some technicians are taking these lash groups and using a semi-permanent eyelash extension adhesive to adhere flares and individuals directly to natural lashes. Applying lashes in bundles will take significantly less time to achieve a full look rather than a single lash by lash application. However this is an unhealthy method for natural lashes. These bundled lashes are far too heavy for a single natural lash to support. If applied to one natural lash they can break the natural lash and inhibit future re-growth. Alternately, if they are applied to multiple natural lashes to properly support their heavy weight, multiple natural lashes will be adhered together. Since natural lashes grow at different rates, the flares will cause faster growing natural lashes to prematurely pull out slower growing lashes from the root since they are bonded together. This can result in permanent damage and lash baldness if done repeatedly. I cannot stress enough to you to please be aware of these types of procedures!!

The type of eyelash extensions that I apply are single synthetic lashes adhering only to the existing natural eyelash, never touching the underlying eyelid. This gives a very natural feel, look and wear, as opposed to typical false eyelashes.
I use extensions in a variety of different lengths to suit both the client's natural eyelashes as well as the desired result. Different colors of eyelashes are also available to enhance and highlight eye color. The procedure is completely painless, in fact most of my clients fall asleep and wake up to beautiful picture-perfect eyelashes.

A full set of eyelash extensions and can take anywhere from 1-2 hours to apply & can be anywhere between 75-100 extensions per eye. Maintenance appointments require significantly less time and generally require far fewer extensions. Depending on several factors, most clients schedule lash maintenance every 2-5 weeks.

Initial Application: $300 (includes first consultation & fill-in within two weeks)

Maintenance appointments: $65 every 2-4 weeks
